Trained and board-certified in emergency medicine, pediatrics, and tactical medicine, he has also served as a critical care transport nurse. Early Career as a Paramedic

 

Tyler became a licensed paramedic in 2011, drawn to settings where sound judgment and precise execution are essential. He began his career at Orange Park Medical Center, spending six years on the Emergency Department floor before joining the trauma team. These early years provided hands-on experience with trauma activations, cardiac arrests, pediatric emergencies, severe infections, strokes, and major cardiac events.

During this time, Tyler developed expertise in advanced cardiac life support, airway management, rapid sequence intubation, and ventilator management. He assisted in saving lives and was present for the delivery of newborns on three occasions. Colleagues relied on his steady presence during critical codes because of his ability to remain calm and act decisively.

Pediatric Care and Inter-Facility Transport

Following his work in the emergency department, Tyler expanded his clinical experience to pediatrics and inter-facility transport. Caring for children required additional attention to both physiological and emotional needs. He spent approximately 12 months refining his skills in pediatric care, preparing him for critical roles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, Tyler transitioned to private inter-facility transport, managing critically ill patients during hospital transfers. These cases often involved ventilated patients, multiple IV medications, and unstable vital signs. He became highly proficient in using sedatives, vasopressors, and advanced respiratory support to maintain hemodynamic stability during transport. He was one of the few paramedics in Jacksonville cleared to transport pediatric patients on high-flow nasal cannulas, such as the AirVo.

Education and Nursing Advancement

Tyler earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Public Health from the University of North Florida in 2020. This education deepened his understanding of patient behavior, mental health, and population health, which he incorporated into his clinical practice. In 2025, he graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville with a nursing degree and became a Registered Nurse. This milestone marked years of dedication and practical work across multiple facets of healthcare.

Family and Personal Commitment

 

After nursing school, Tyler temporarily relocated to Marble Falls, Texas, to care for his grandmother, reinforcing values of responsibility, loyalty, and service. Once she was safely relocated, he returned to Florida to resume his clinical practice as a paramedic and nurse.

Physical Discipline and Personal Life

 

Tyler’s personal life emphasizes physical fitness and discipline. He has trained in mixed martial arts, bodybuilding, and athletic conditioning for nearly two decades. He also enjoys surfing, snowboarding, biking, and spending time at the beach. Sports remain important to him, as he follows professional teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars, as well as the UFC. Spiritual practice and family life provide balance, and he resides in Jacksonville, where he owns a home and rents out rooms.
